Step into the pixie village of Pleppil, a strange and enchanting place filled with a group of fey creatures whose society revolves around the accumulation of shiny objects. Every home in Pleppil is adorned with dozens, if not hundreds, of various objects that glimmer in the sunlight or glow by the light of the moon. The pixies frequently roam to nearby towns and roads to steal new shinies from unsuspecting townsfolk and travelers. While most pixies make their homes high up in the trees, similar in size and design to birdhouses used by some of the wealthier city folks, one pixie by the name of Quillen is left on the forest floor. When Quillen (or Quill as his friends call him) was young, he was attacked by a wizard when trying to scavenge a copper coin. He survived, but his wings were mangled and he lost the ability to fly. The damage was so great that no pixie healing magic could repair his poor wings. Quill is not one to give up hope on regaining his flight, however. On one of his recent travels with his trusty porcupine steed, Spike, he found a group of tall folk meandering through the forest. Always a curious pixie, Quill crept up close and did some eavesdropping. He heard them discussing a wonder called the Well of Wishes. This place is said to contain waters that can cure any ailment – hopefully even destroyed pixie wings! Now Quill seeks a group of adventurers who will join him on this exciting and potentially dangerous journey into the heart of the forest to find this Well of Wishes and finally regain his flight!

Smugglers guide their ships to hidden coves, willing to slit the throat of anyone foolhardy enough to cross their path. Cruel sahuagin gather beneath the waves, plotting to sweep away coastal cities. Drowned sailors stir to unnatural life, animated by dark magic and sent forth in search of revenge. The cult of a forbidden god extends its reach outward from a decaying port, hungry for fresh victims and willing recruits. While Saltmarsh slumbers, the evils that seek to plunder it grow stronger. Heroes must arise to keep the waves safe! Ghosts of Saltmarsh combines some of the most popular classic adventures from the first edition of Dungeons & Dragons including the classic ‘U’ series and some of the best nautical adventures from Dungeon magazine: The Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh Danger at Dunwater The Final Enemy Salvage Operation Isle of the Abbey Tammeraut’s Fate The Styes All adventures have been faithfully adapted to the fifth edition rules of Dungeons & Dragons. Furthermore, this book includes details on the port town of Saltmarsh, as well as plenty of hooks to kick-off each adventure. Play through each story in a seafaring campaign leading characters from level 1 through level 12, or pull out sections to place in ongoing campaigns in any setting. The appendices also cover mechanics for ship-to-ship combat, new magic items, monsters, and more! “The Saltmarsh series consistently ranks as one of the most popular classic D&D adventures,” said Mike Mearls, franchise creative director of D&D. “With its ties to ocean-based adventuring, it was an obvious step to augment it with additional sea-based adventures and a robust set of rules for managing a nautical campaign.” Hoist your sails, pull up anchor, and set a course for adventure!

In the meantime, they have set up camp in a large sea save close by the site of the shipwreck. A sickness has come unto the simple mining community of Duvik’s Pass, poisoning their wells and blighting their crops. With the pestilence leaving the strongest men of the town’s guard a few short days away from death, the burden of descending into the mines and purging the wellspring of whatever evil has settled there falls to an intrepid band of adventurers. Can these noble heroes prevail within the depths of Duvik’s Pass, or will they too fall victim to the perils of The Burning Plague? The Burning Plague is a DUNGEONS & DRAGONS adventure designed for a party of four to six characters of 1st level. Dungeon Masters (DMs) should feel free to adjust the adventure as necessary to accommodate groups not falling within this range. However, given the fairly low power level of the inhabitants of the mines at Duvik’s Pass, it should be noted that parties consisting of 20 or more total levels are unlikely to find satisfactory challenge within The Burning Plague.
