You have arrived in Scalabar at the behest of Sora Calhaigne. The lady of House Calhaigne needs brave heroes to investigate the loss of her galleon, the Morning Star. She has reason to believe that the sea monster is not what it seems. When the magic runs out, so does your luck. The wildspace monster is deadly, but its lair is the real killer. The Spelljammer ship, Sky Ranger, is lost in wildspace and the players are hired to find it. When investigating the Pirtel system where the ship was last seen, the players have a chance for exploration and roleplay in a city called Skyport. The adventure is mostly exploration of Pirtelspace and investigation to find the final resting place of the Sky Ranger. The adventure is full of random and planned encounters for this area. Gray Mountain lies deep in the lush elven forest. The temple there was a haven of meditation and learning - until taken over by an evil cleric known as the Rahib. "Rahib, adventurers came to the village as the sun rose - the strangers now protect Rahasia." A scowl crosses the Rahib's face. "I must have Rahasia! Attack again tonight." For as far back in time as the tales of history stretch, the area bordering what is now the Lands of Launewt has been a foreboding, practically impenetrable forest. When the lords who ruled the various borderlands united to form the Council of Launewt a century ago, the forest was in the same physical condition as it is now: thick, dark, and expansive, said to be so dense at the center that sunlight pervaded the foliage only on the brightest days. Conquest, not beauty, is in the eyes of this beholder. A promise of adventure and riches, with a hint of total annihilation. The party should also have several powerful magical items, since the challenge that it faces is great. Can Seapoint Be Saved? is an adventure designed for use with the AD&D rule system. To be able to answer that question, a party of adventurers should consist of 4-8 player characters, each of 4th-7th level. The group may also include henchmen and hirelings. To have the best chance for success, the party should include as many different character classes as possible, with emphasis on fighter-types.
The heroes have spent the last several days in the quiet, secluded town of Relvaunt.
