When the PCs are recruited to protect an influential spinster, they discover that more is afoot at Dromdal House than anyone suspects. In fact, they may be the ones who need protection, from their aging ward. Pgs. 18-28

Who is ready for a murder mystery? This scenario is completely customizable for a variety of levels available. We won't kid you, this scenario is not something you just throw on the table and play as soon as it is downloaded. A spreadsheet for understanding clues vs. suspects will need to be studied for you (the DM) to understand how to run the mystery. That being said, everytime we (myself & playtesters) have run it, it has been a smash! Like all of our offerings, you SHOULD customize it to fit your needs.

Many centuries ago, a band of paladins fell from grace. These blackguards were defeated after a great battle and their grim fortress, the Iron Tower, was razed. A small abbey was established near the ruins, where generations of monks mixed ancient eldritch wards, mighty clockwork traps, and multiple fail safes to build the Iron Crypt of the Heretics. Three mighty vaults ensured that its evils would be sealed for all eternity. But unbeknownst to the brotherhood, their impregnable crypt had a single weakness: the very monks that had built it, for they knew its secrets. When a devourer stole into their abbey, the profane beast forced the monks to help it inside the Iron Crypt. It successfully broke into the first of three vaults, releasing an army of wights. The story of the devourer and his wight army is told in Dungeon Crawl Classics #12: The Blackguardโ€™s Revenge. Now, in the Iron Crypt of the Heretics, the heroes must venture into a crypt designed by the worldโ€™s greatest thieves, magicians, and seers, solve its puzzles and deadly traps, and seal it once more from the outside world.

The Chinese legend of Lady White Snake, like a serpent shedding its skin, is a tale thatโ€™s been renewed many times. At its core, it is a tale of a water snake granted magic and human form when a mortal man drops a godโ€™s gift of immortality into the river. It is a story of friendship in which the white snake saves a green snakeโ€™s life and shares her powers. It is a story of jealousy in which a turtle spirit covets their immortality and plots against them. It is a story of selflessness in which the white snake sacrifices allโ€”trapped in a pagoda for eternityโ€”to save, from the turtle spirit, the same mortal man sheโ€™s grown to love. But in some retellings, it is a story of evil and good, Lady White Snake, an evil demon, and the turtle, a well-intentioned monk. Or it is a story of treachery, the green snake betraying her closest friend. This adventure embodies the multi-faceted nature of the original legend transformed over centuries. The townโ€™s healer, Lady White, has been captured, and everyone in the village has a different story to tell. Itโ€™s up to the characters to decide who they trust, what they believe, and what theyโ€™re going to do about it.
