Underground - Level 12 The characters must navigate the shifting labyrinths of the Elemental Plane of Earth to pull off a heist and find the Motherlode before the demons! Portal of the Drow- Level 13 The time has come to enter the Abyss. The nearest - permanent - portal is inside the drow city of Erelhei-Cinlu and is guarded by the son of Demogorgon. As a result, only one action is reasonable: besiege the great city in this adventure inspired by Vault of the Drow. Invasion of the Abyss - Level 14 Upon finding themselves in the Abyss, the characters arrive in the uppermost layer of the Abyss, trudging through 13 layers to reach the home of the Queen of Chaos in this adventure inspired by the Demonweb Pits.

Alton Lightheart, a lhalfling thief, went looking for a magic sword at the Storm-Sun Cliff. He & his two comrades were ambushed by a dusk (collective term) of malign shadows. He was knocked out and nearly killed. Before the shadows could consume Alton, a giant owl pair chased them away. Later, he awoke badly injured, not knowing his allies’ fate (they became shadows). Shaken, Alton saw he no longer cast a shadow! Disturbed, he fled to the village of Croy. Alton’s freed shadow, Kra, and its dusk now stalk him, longing to devour him in the dim light. This chapter starts in Croy. As the PCs arrive, an exhausted Alton sits in the Dragon’s Claw Tavern, back to the wall, skittishly watching. You have few complaints this night as you rest in the common room of the Crooked Crow Inn. While winter has passed, the night air carries enough of a chill to make any hearth a welcome sight.
