The Corruption of Alder Glen" is a folk horror adventure that takes place in a small, close-knit town with a strange relationship to their trees. Characters have the chance to get to know the town and its inhabitants while they unravel the mystery of the gravedirt alder and decide how best to save the townsfolk — and themselves. This 5th edition compatible adventure was written for a party of four to six 4th level characters. By the end of the adventure, characters should reach 6th level. The adventure sees the characters pass through the modest town of Alder Glen and witness a bizarre wild animal attack. When they are asked to get to the bottom of these escalating attacks, they uncover a centuries-old bargain with the creatures of the wood. The widow Blanche, Lady of Alder Glen, and her daughter Ingrid disagree on how best to protect the people in their charge. As the wood encroaches, they’re running out of time to decide.
After a few scrapes with adventure even novice heroes will need a break and such is the case with this challenge. Inspired by the 12 Labors of Hercules in Greek mythology, this adaptation incorporates the classic quests, monsters, and motifs of ancient myth while injecting our interpretation of the personality and flavour of the world's greatest roleplaying game. As a result, though those familiar with the original myth may recognize key similarities in this adventure, it has been designed with the goal of re-formatting and reframing these heroic tasks in a new light, suitable for an entire mini-campaign fit for a whole group of brave and heroic adventurers. Use the Village of Kalogeros to incorporate each labor into a long running quest, or take bits and pieces and re-flavor them as necessary to fit your game. The choice is yours. Barrow of the Culder is the initial adventure in the dangerous land of Provincia. Carrying on from this month’s free adventure, this scenario brings the adventuring party together in the small community of Merrydale. Two PCs will be meeting on the hill outside of town and then move forward to find additional members of the group as well as their first challenge. One PC will have received a job to find a missing minor artifact and have orders to gather any assistance…hence the party forms and has a common goal! After gathering their equipment they will follow a hidden trail to the final resting place of the feared warlord named the Culder.
