This campaign was created as a response to comments from some friends of mine. Though they were avid board game players, they didn’t want to try D&D because it seemed like too much of a time commitment with too many rules to learn before getting started. This campaign uses stripped down characters and a simple campaign, and was made to give them a chance to try it for half an hour on a regular board games night. I’m putting it online in the hopes that other people can do the same with it and expand the community. Inspired by /u/plaintreality of Reddit.

A self-contained, zero-prep one-shot for 2-3 players at levels 2-3, playable in a single 2-3 hour session. Cattle are vanishing in the night, perfect rings are seared into the fields, and villagers who have seen the lights come back changed. The party investigates a frightened farming hamlet, tracks the lights to a disc-shaped craft half-buried in a crop ring, and boards it to rescue a missing farmer's daughter before confronting the cold intelligence that pilots the vessel and escaping as it climbs. A played-straight horror-comedy: every villager treats the terror as real, and the comedy grows from absurd specifics rather than winking at the premise. Four acts across 18 keyed scenes, four pregenerated characters, six original stat blocks, five battle maps, a genuine branching choice, scaling for 2-4 players, and Game Master guidance throughout.

K1: Night at Fausen’s Manor is an investigative adventure designed for player characters around 3rd level. The players have been invited by the reclusive Lord Fausen to dine with him and discuss a job; Fausen is troubled by odd bumps and sounds in the night, something has been interfering with his mail, and recently his butler, Grimly, has disappeared.
