From there it's a fast-paced journey of survival as the heroes escape a collapsing dungeon in a montage test, then negotiate with a speaking stone door in order to finally gain access to the monster they’ve been looking for: a being that has undergone the evil saint Eseld’s ‘Great Rebirth.’ Who is this adventure for? This is an ideal adventure for those wanting to run Draw Steel for the first time or looking to onboard newer players. Internally, MCDM called this “the Conventure.” It’s designed for experienced Directors who already know the rules, and want to run Draw Steel for new players at their local convention or game store. It doesn’t explain how to play, that’s what the director is for! Because RPG events at a convention can last anywhere from 45 minutes to 4 hours, The Road to Broadhurst has advice on how to skip sections you don’t have time for without affecting the flow of play. Road to Broadhurst is a short, modular adventure for Draw Steel. It’s written for three to six 1st-level heroes and a Director. War Dogs in the Woods is an adventure that scales between 4 to 6 first-level characters. There are three combat encounters and one skill montage, yielding up to four victories. The antagonists are a group of War Dogs preparing to assault a town. It can work as the kickoff for a War Dogs focused campaign, or to inject a little variety into an existing campaign. During a respite at an inn, a man barges in, declaring: ‘I found another one.’ It’s the latest instance of dismembered bodies in the woods. The townspeople ask the heroes to investigate what they think is a pack of dark wolves assaulting travelers. An examination of the site reveals dark wolf tracks, but also a new trail leading into the woods. During the first encounter in the woods, several unknown contacts, represented by “blips,” advance towards the heroes, and are eventually revealed as War Dogs. The heroes learn the War Dogs are part of a camp gathering to assault the town. From there, the heroes journey deeper into the forests, eventually finding and destroying the War Dog camp.
“A Prisoner’s Escort” is a 2nd-level (1st echelon) quest written for the Draw Steel role-playing game by MCDM. It can act as a bridge between major adventures, or on its own.
