In The Black Midwinter is a Festive adventure, designed to be played in one session. The PCs battle an ancient evil threatening a remote village in the subarctic north. Very much the same as most D&D adventures, only this time, it’s Christmas themed! The adventure includes a new Legendary Item, The Deck of Merry Things (with full printable art to create a prop deck), five new monsters including Krampus (obviously) and The Yule Lads (not so obviously, unless you're really into Finnish Christmas Folklore), ten additional magic items and four new alignments (really!). This adventure is ideal for a one off, not entirely serious game separate from your regular campaign. Mulled wine, stupid hats and holiday cheer not included, but very highly recommended.

What was once a peaceful chapel now glows with sickly yellow light. Locals whisper of cheese-scented smoke curling from its windows… and giggling shapes scampering through the graveyard after dark. Inside, something ancient stirs. A deranged warlock—Darius Manchego—has seized the sanctuary and begun a ritual to summon Lavache, an obscure archfey of dairy, indulgence, and decay. Cheese Goblins swarm the halls, corrupting pews, altars, crypts, and even the sacred dead. If the ritual completes, the Matron of Cheese will step through the veil—and the town below may drown in holy curdled chaos. Adventurers must storm the defiled church, navigate its cheese-slicked catacombs, disrupt the ritual flames, and confront Darius before Lavache fully manifests… or face the archfey herself in all her gooey, bovine glory. Pleasantries feed on dreams, and have been kidnapping people from the small town of Alarcan for sustenance -- offering them in return a pleasant end to their existence in an unending, peaceful sleep filled with happy dreams. The party accompanies Renata, an orphan whose best friend was the victim of the latest kidnapping, and travels to the Plane of Faerie, through a swamp dungeon called the Shallows, and into the poppy grove where the pleasantries have built their nest. There, they confront the pleasantries and their Queen, and must decide whether to attack or negotiate -- and whether to leave the fae to their peaceful dream-farming, or to rescue the dreamers and bring them home whether the dreamers wish it or not.
